Es un pequeño estado en la Republica de India. Que antes estaba bajo la custodia de muchos reinos que incluía Ashoka pero nunca fue capital. Para el 1510 los portugueses desembarcaron el estado, en lo cual fue gobernada por musulmanes. En el siglo XV la influencia de los portugueses baja contra los británicos, pero estos logran mantener a Goa. En 1947 fue cuando India tuvo su independencia pero tenian que esperar hasta el 1961 para asi recuperar a Goa por la fuerza.
